Details

With the impact of the climate crisis and the international agenda, 2021-2022 was a period in which agriculture and food came to the fore in the world. The pandemic, global warming, the Russia-Ukraine War, embargoes, disruptions in supply chains, migration, economic problems at home and abroad in commodity prices have once again revealed the importance of agriculture. Raw material procurement in strategic products such as flour and oil has come to the forefront for countries. In the case of wheat, which constitutes the raw material of basic food consumption, the Black Sea Grain Corridor, which was realized with Turkey's initiatives, became a hope for the world and the markets were relieved.

In this context, in the study titled "Wheat on the Global Agenda", we specifically addressed wheat in three sections under the headings of Turkey's Current Wheat Economy, War and Wheat: A Political Economy Perspective, Global Morality and the Danger of Famine.

We have prepared this report exclusively for Konya Commodity Exchange by examining wheat, which is considered a strategic product within the scope of national and international analyzes and reports, in a multi-faceted structure, including its production in Turkey and the world, crop areas, consumption, import and export, manipulation on it and 2023 projections.
