There are many factors in the occurrence of forest fires. Sometimes they occur spontaneously due to natural causes such as lightning strikes, and sometimes they are caused directly or indirectly by humans. The recent increase in forest fires both in our country and around the world and the consequences of these fires have revealed how important and serious this issue is. In our country, approximately 178 thousand hectares of wooded areas were destroyed by fire in 2021. When we look at America, a total of 58,948 fires occurred in 2021, while approximately 7,124,554 acres were destroyed in these fires.

When we look at the main factors that cause forest fires, it is seen that the situations brought about by climate change and the developments in places where the risk of forest fires is high. It is important for political decision-makers to improve "forest management" efforts to prevent forest fires. Although managed fire practice is a practice that carries risks in itself, it is stated that it poses greater risks if it is not implemented. In particular, it is said that in order to implement an effective forest management, it is necessary to apply the managed fire method carefully, cautiously and under observation.
